Enjoy breathtaking views of the South Downs and invigorating sea air at the Martello Half Marathon.

Event Overview:
The Seaford Martello Half Marathon is a scenic, but challenging event combining the stunning Seaford seafront with the beautiful South Downs. Organised jointly by Seaford Martello Rotary and Seaford Striders Running Club, this is one the nicest half marathons on the South coast. A tough race, but you won’t be disappointed!

Course Details:
Starting on the seafront it features a tough climb but then offers glorious views across the downs and the sea as the route follows part of the South Downs Way.  Most of the route is off road on glorious trail. Expect a combination of open byways, some narrow paths and (depending on the weather) some mud, puddles, slippery chalk and exposed flint. Take time to enjoy some amazing views across downs and sea. After following the South Downs Way the course then drops in a steep descent to Bishopstone village and back to the seafront.

Cut off time
This year, to ensure the health and safety of our runners and volunteers, we are introducing a cut off time. You must reach the first water station (which is at approx. 4 miles) within one hour. We have chosen this location because it is placed within a reasonable distance to get back to the start.
We would like to thank our friends at Seaford Striders for their marshal support.

Restrictions
We are sorry, no walkers or runners with dogs are permitted on this race.

Our 2025 charities
We believe in supporting local charities and organisations - in 2025 any surplus after event expenses will be split equally between East Sussex Vision Support, The Youth Counselling Project the grant giving arm of Seaford Martello Rotary.

The Youth Counselling ProjectThe Youth Counselling Project provides professional counselling services at no cost to students who are suffering from mental health difficulties in the Seaford area.
